Charité is one of the world-leading university medical centres with a long tradition of high quality research and exceptional international research environment. The Department of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Immunology (MIDI) aims to gain a molecular understanding of how the innate immune system, in particular the recently discovered groups of innate lymphoid cells (ILC), promote tissue homeostasis and adaptation of the host to noxious compounds and tissue damage at barrier surfaces (e.g. intestine, skin, lung). The research group of Christoph Klose is especially interested to understand how the nervous system and the immune system interact, in order to maintain mucosal homeostasis in health and disease. For this purpose, our laboratory is combining cutting-edge technology in the areas of neuroscience, immunology and genomics. We invite applications of doctoral candidates (m/f) with strong interest in this emerging, multidisciplinary area of research.

Your area of responsibility
