Heavy metals are widely distributed in the atmosphere, lithosphere, biosphere and hydrosphere. Under normal circumstances, the natural background concentration of heavy metals will not be harmful to the human body. However, with large-scale industrial production, sewerage and the widespread use of pesticides, poisonous and harmful metals such as cadmium, mercury, lead, arsenic, chromium, barium enter the atmosphere, water, and soil, and subsequently enter the human body through the food chain. Exposure to heavy metals is considered as a main threat to human health and biological system. These metals have been widely studied and their effects on human health are regularly analyzed by international bodies. Recently, certain heavy metals such as cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), lead (Pb), chromium (Cr), and arsenic (As) showed a close association to breast cancer. Several epidemiological studies have demonstrated that exposure to metals has toxic and carcinogenic effects on humans and animals. https://www.bocsci.com/solutions/heavy-metal-analysis.htm
